'What I Want For My Wedding Favor'

My name is Farah and my future hubby is Daniel are getting spliced in July @ Tropicana Golf & Country Club. When I saw the rings coaster (Me & You Ring Coaster / Our wedding ring coaster - I would call it), I fell in love instantly as it suits my wedding theme. I still haven't purchase my favors yet...oh dear...My wedding theme is gold that resembles king and queen of the day. Ring is a symbol of marriage and unity, while this coaster resembles the symbol of love and unity of 2 hearts (ohhh how romantic), elegance and it's trendy too. Guests won't throw this one away for sure. Not only this coaster is useful, simple and elegant, it will definitely be appreciated by guests that attended my wedding. So far, I've never been to any weddings that gives out this ring coasters as their favors. I'll be overjoyed to receive it. And, that's how my guests will feel if they receive this as my weddings favors to them.I know they would because I would :)

Alhamdulillah our engagement ceremony (exactly 2 weeks after my brother's wedding) went well that began in the morning proceeding to lunch. I got engaged to my 1st love. In fact, we are both each other's first love.

Engagement Favour
I chose cinderella carriage as engagement favours simply because it's like living a fairytale in a true world as I am a big fan of fairytale stories i.e Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Beauty & The Beast and so forth. Anything that has castles and beautiful pictures. Even my gf, Elisha was happy and cried when I told her that we are getting engaged and soon to be married. 'It's like fairytale come true', she said. No matter how long, how far, with Allah's willing, we will always be an item and now we are one. InsyaAllah.

To me, it's a matter of where you put the 'i's, whether un'i'ted or unt'i'ed. 

My phrase: 'my love for him is irreplaceable'.
His phrase: 'it has always been you (me) and will always be'.

Something blue...
We choose blue colour as our theme because the colour is sweet and one of our theme colours before stepping into marriage life. White for our solemnization day and ... for reception. Not only that, it reminds me of the phrase 'Something blue'.

Something old, something new
Something borrowed, something blue
And a silver sixpence in her shoe.

Blue has been connected to weddings for centuries. In ancient Rome, brides wore blue to symbolize love, modesty and fidelity. Besides, before the late 19th century, blue was a popular colour for wedding gowns, as evidenced in proverbs like, "Marry in blue, lover be true." I'll rephrase it to "Engage in blue, lover be true".

Pelamin
Pelamin by Eliza Elies. I requested for Bohemian like curtain to blend in with the theme of blue and white. We added 2 lamps from Turkey that my sis-in-law bought.

Calla Lilies
I made my own engagement flower using artificial calla lilies so that I can still keep them and something to look at, to hold and to remember by. Calla lilies is on my fav flowers. I made 2 bridal flowers for my bff for her wedding receptions and also for the newly weds, my bro and sis-in-law. I'm also planning to make and arrange my own bridal flowers for my big day. My own touch, my own satisfaction.

And now, we're engaged and looking forward for our BIG DAY in July 2011.
